According to CTV News, a Saskatchewan veteran has taken legal action against both the federal government and the Royal Canadian Legion due to an alleged data breach. The veteran, along with five others, had their medical information illegally accessed by an officer from the Regina branch of the legion. This unauthorized access came to light during an investigation conducted by Internal Veterans Affairs Canada. Subsequently, the veteran filed a statement of claim in May, seeking damages exceeding CAD 500,000 from the federal government and several members of the Saskatchewan Command of the Royal Canadian Legion.
